Amazon has now integrated its own printing software into Alexa products. This means that shopping lists, various lists and documents can be printed out simply and easily using voice commands. But the software still has weaknesses and is still not all formats and files compatible
Print recipes, shopping lists and crosswords with Alexa
It is no longer a special feature that voice-controlled devices can print lists. The best-known voice-controlled system Alexa from Amazon could already be configured with printers from HP. But now Amazon has developed its own printing feature for the voice system. With this, ready-made lists, crossword puzzles, recipes and much more can be printed out simply and easily by voice command.
Alexa printing system compatible with Canon, HP, Epson and Brother
Simply connect your own printer to the Alexa device via WiFi and you're good to go.
The printer used and the Echo Dot or another Alexa-enabled device only need to be connected to the same WLAN. The connection can then be established with the command: “Alexa, search for my printer”. Most well-known printer brands such as Canon, HP, Epson and Brother are compatible with the Alexa printing system.
Some formats and websites are not yet supported
The list of documents and files that can be printed must be selected in advance. However, not every format can be printed because not all of them are compatible with the Amazon printing system. Word documents and certain websites are not yet compatible with the software.
Alexa recognizes empty printer cartridges and reorders them automatically
Although the integrated software is not yet fully developed, there are also positive features. For example, Alexa recognizes when the printer cartridges are running out and can then automatically order new cartridges with a discount of 10%. If you prefer to reorder the cartridges manually, there is the option of receiving a voice message or email from Alexa. At present, Amazon's own printing software still has some weaknesses, but it can be expected that these will be improved and eliminated in the near future.
